At Family Dental Care, we’re proud to be a female-led practice serving our community. Dr. Claire Stanford Logan and Dr. Jan O’Keefe Belote bring decades of experience to our office. Their dedication to patient comfort, comprehensive dentistry, and care for patients of all ages is truly inspiring.

Drs. Logan and Belote are proud to serve as examples for women who may be interested in becoming female dentists. Despite the percentage of women in dentistry growing from just 16% in 2001 to about 38% in 2023, dentistry is still a male-dominated field. Our team is here to show the way for young women who are drawn to the dental field.  

Dr. Claire Stanford Logan Is Dedicated to Cutting-Edge Care

Dr. Logan has more than ten years of dental experience, graduating from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis in 2012. But her education didn’t stop once she got her degree. As she went through dental school, she saw first-hand how dental anxiety prevented patients from getting the care they needed.

So after graduating, Dr. Logan decided to become certified to provide dental sedation, including IV conscious sedation. As a certified sedation dentist, Dr. Logan can keep her patients feeling comfortable and safe throughout each visit to Family Dental Care.

Not only that, but Dr. Logan is also dedicated to continuing education and learning about cutting-edge technology that helps improve outcomes and keep patients more comfortable throughout their visits. She has extensive experience with CEREC CAD/CAM dentistry, dental implants, digital smile design, and much more.

As a young mother herself, Dr. Logan also understands how intimidating dentistry can be for little ones. At Family Dental Care, we love kids of all ages – it’s in our name, after all! Dr. Logan knows how to make your little ones feel comfortable when they get a checkup, a filling, or any other necessary dental care. If they need a little more help to relax, she’s certified to deliver sedation to kids, too!

Dr. Jan O'Keefe Belote Brings 30+ Years of Experience to Our Practice

Dr. Belote brings 30+ years of dental expertise to Family Dental Care. She’s a third-generation dentist, so you could say that it runs in the family! She attended the University of Mississippi Dental School, where she graduated at the top of her class and won multiple scholarships, honors, and other distinctions during her studies. She also served as the editor of her school’s journal.

After graduating from dental school, Dr. Belote actually spent eight years working with her uncle at Family Dental Care, between 1990-1998. She rejoined in 2014, and we couldn’t be happier to have had her on the team for the last decade.  

Like Dr. Logan, Dr. Belote has also seen how dental anxiety can prevent patients from getting necessary dental care. She’s also certified to provide IV sedation, and her caring, patient-focused, education-centered approach helps patients feel at ease during every appointment at our office.

Dr. Belote is also passionate about helping underserved populations in Mississippi receive access to the dental care they need. That’s why she’s provided her services free of charge to the Donated Dental Services Program of Mississippi since it was founded in 1995, and she also donates her services to the Resource Center Network.

Beyond her work as a dentist at Family Dental Care and her charitable contributions, Dr. Belote has always been an advocate for women in dentistry and for the further advancement of the dental field in general. Among her roles in other organizations, she has served as the state coordinator for the Association of Women Dentists in Mississippi and as an alternate to the Board of Trustees for the Mississippi Dental Association.
