In our image-conscious world, it can be difficult to feel confident when you have noticeable flaws in your smile.
Drs. Danny O'Keefe and Jan Belote use porcelain veneers to mask cosmetic issues and give you a picture-perfect smile.
Their experience, skill, and technology lead patients throughout the Jackson, MS, area to choose our Flowood office for veneers.
Veneers are thin porcelain ceramic shells (usually less than 0.5 mm thick) custom-made to fit over the front of your teeth. They are used to conceal common dental imperfections like cracks, chips, discoloration, and mild misalignment.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video.
Once the tooth is prepared, the veneer attaches to the front surface, artfully concealing imperfections that mar your smile.
Unlike some cosmetic procedures, veneer treatment is fast and easy. After meeting with you for a consultation, we will design your porcelain veneers and send the order off to our partner dental lab. In a few short weeks, the handcrafted shells will be ready for placement and we can complete your procedure.
Since dental veneers cover the entire front surface of your teeth, they can conceal a wide variety of cosmetic imperfections. Our Jackson dentists can place a single veneer on a troublesome tooth or a set of veneers on several highly visible front teeth to achieve a more dramatic enhancement.
Porcelain is an incredibly lifelike material that mimics the shine and translucency of natural enamel. When custom designing your veneers we take special care to match the color of nearby teeth. We also pay special attention to the shape and size of each veneer to ensure that they complement your smile and facial features.
Porcelain veneers from Family Dental Care can give your smile a near-instant transformation. These thin ceramic shells can conceal minor damage and purely cosmetic concerns, like deep stains. Our Flowood office offers a few different veneer options so patients can achieve results tailored just for them.

Dental veneer treatment typically takes two appointments spaced a couple of weeks apart at our Flowood, MS, office. Here are the steps involved in the procedure:
Veneers can last a decade or longer with proper care and maintenance.
Veneers can last a decade or longer with proper care and maintenance.
We begin by talking to you about your smile goals and identifying the teeth you wish to treat. Your dentist preps the teeth by removing a small layer of enamel to accommodate the thickness of the shell. Then we take impressions of your smile to design the custom fit of the veneers and send the information off to our partner dental lab.
The technicians at the dental lab handcraft your veneers out of high-quality porcelain ceramic. These artisan techniques can take a bit of time, but we assure you the natural-looking results are worth the wait.
In about one to three weeks, the finished veneers will be ready and you can return for your final appointment. Dr. O'Keefe or Dr. Belote will place each veneer against the surface of your tooth and make any final adjustments to achieve the perfect fit. Finally, we etch the enamel to strengthen the bonding process and secure the veneers with a long-lasting dental cement.
Get Started With a Consultation
During your consultation at our Flowood, MS, practice, we will examine your teeth and determine whether dental veneers are right for you. While veneers are suitable for most patients, there are a few factors that can affect your candidacy...
Ideal candidates have good oral health with no signs of tooth decay or gum disease. if we detect a health problem, we will first provide the necessary restorative treatments before moving on to cosmetic dentistry.
Dental veneers are intended for cosmetic concerns, not problems affecting the strength of your teeth. If you have a large fracture or worn enamel you will most likely need a dental crown to repair the visible damage and reinforce the tooth structure.
It is important to understand that veneers will permanently alter your natural tooth structure. While treatment can last for a decade or more, you will eventually need to replace your veneers. If your goal is for temporary enhancement, our dentists can recommend an alternative cosmetic procedure that does not require maintenance.
Drs. O'Keefe and Belote draw upon decades of experience when considering if veneers are right for a patient. Call or send a message to request your evaluation.
Everyone should be able to undergo dental work while feeling safe and comfortable. If you hesitate to schedule treatments because of dental phobia, consider sedation dentistry. Sedation is administered before we start your procedure, inducing a state of physical and mental relaxation.
Our Jackson team is trained and qualified to offer several sedation options, including oral conscious sedatives and nitrous oxide. To find out if one of these options can help you, please contact our Flowood practice or request an appointment with a dentist at Family Dental Care today.
Once bonded to your enamel, porcelain veneers should be cared for in much the same way as natural teeth. You should brush and floss daily. To help make sure your results stay secure and beautiful for as long as possible, follow these simple tips:
While porcelain is a stain-resistant material, tooth enamel is not. To keep your smile a consistent shade of white, avoid foods and drinks that cause discolored teeth. Ask about our take-home teeth whitening for occasional touch-ups.
Just like your natural teeth, veneers can crack if placed under too much pressure. The best way to avoid damage is to be mindful of what you eat and refrain from chewing things like ice cubes or hard candy.
The best way to care for your veneers, as well as your natural teeth, is to attend regular check-ups at the office. Your dentist should professionally clean your smile twice a year to remove built-up tartar and treat signs of decay and periodontal disease.
Veneers are more than sufficient for concealing cosmetic dental flaws. However, if your teeth have suffered severe structural damage you may need a stronger solution.
Dental crowns, while restorative in nature, offer many cosmetic benefits. They can be placed to restore proper shape to a tooth that is in need of major repair while also enhancing its aesthetics. Rest assured, our dentists will recommend what is best for your smile while empowering you to make a decision you feel confident in.
Let me just tell you these ladies were the best! I have extreme anxiety and recently changed my dentist due to a horrible experience with my previous dentist to go here. They were all so amazing!
